Days Hours Req: This event is for restaurant positions only. We will be interviewing for full time cooks & part time servers, food runners, hosts, and cooks. No prior experience required! Part-Time Server

The job of the Server in The Pub is to provide incredible service by working to promote and sell items by sharing knowledge about our menu and beverage offerings; Servers practice suggestive selling techniques to assist guests in choosing items for their meal. In addition, Servers assist in supporting restaurant operations as by demonstrating exceptional people skills, food & beverage knowledge and service techniques.

Part-Time Food Runner

The job of the Server Assistant is to provide incredible service by supporting servers and bartenders in attending to tables and meeting the needs of guests and supporting the Culinary Team in accurately expediting and delivering food items to our guests. The Server Assistant assists the service/bar and culinary team by ensuring all elements of an exceptional dining experience are achieved.

Providing Incredible, Knowledge Based Customer Service

  • Provide incredible service to guests by delivering and expediting dishes prepared by the kitchen to the guests’ tables accurately, with a sensitivity to time and an understanding of the importance of maintaining the integrity of the food
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of the work being done by the service group and culinary operations to ensure proactive assistance is provided to both teams, including running food and clearing/cleaning tables

      • Proactively approach customers at the counter, weigh and package prepared items as requested, answer questions about products, offer suggestions for meal solutions and respond with a sense of urgency
      • Utilize resources to increase knowledge of products and practices by connecting with team leaders and department managers and recognizing how featured items and themes tie into the department, particularly regarding Menu magazine

        • Follow Wegmans Guiding Principles and department job aides to consistently prepare quality products that meet Wegmans standards
        • Assist team members set-up and maintain Prepared Foods stations by ensuring products are well-merchandised, signs are properly displayed, product levels are maintained throughout the day, and supplies are organized to quickly and efficiently perform tasks
        • Perform closing procedures, including cleaning stations, storing prepared food to maintain freshness & quality, and leaving the department ready for tasks to take place efficiently the next morning 
        • Properly handle products, use equipment, keep accurate logs and follow sanitation practices in accordance with food and human safety guidelines and Simplification 5S procedures

Work Environment:

  • Days/hours requirements: part-time employees may work up to 30 hours/week, with shifts ranging between 4 and 8 hours at a time based on department needs. Weekly hours and specific shifts are not guaranteed and we do not offer set schedules. The most successful applicants offer an availability spanning several hours at a time, on multiple days/week. Specific days/hours of work vary by position/department and will generally include weekends.
