Position Summary

At J. J. Keller, our philosophy is to partner with area colleges and create great opportunities for their students. This philosophy has lead to a successful internship program, in which many former interns continue to work at J. J. Keller following graduation.

As a Sales Intern you will be provided an opportunity to experience many aspects of the selling process. In this position you will start in a lead generation role, where you’ll work with new and existing customers to uncover a need and place a free sample/trial of our services and/or products. As the internship progresses you'll have opportunities to expand and grow your sales skills by taking on additional responsibilities. Upon Graduation we encourage those individuals who have successfully completed the Sales Internship, to begin their Sales Careers with JJ Keller through our extensive START Sales Training Program.

We are seeking energetic, enthusiastic, assertive, and goal-orientated individuals. The right candidate should be an effective and adaptive communicator, as well as enjoy working independently and within a team.

-Minimum of 12-20 hours/week with a minimum 3-4 hour work shift during school year.
-Flexible daytime work hours between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. during school year.
-Full-time, 40 hours/week during summer.
-Additional hours are available during holidays and breaks.
-No work during finals week.

Job Responsibilities

  • Sells products/services to existing and prospective customers as assigned. 
  • Places products/services for follow-up by a Sales Representative. Schedules follow-up appointment for the Sales Representative as appropriate.  
  • Services all customers, internal and external, in a professional manner. Resolves customer service problems to the mutual satisfaction of both the company and the customer. 
  • Accurately completes and processes documentation related to customer transactions. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 



  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required

  • Current enrollment in college; Junior/Senior status preferred. Preferred majors include Marketing or Communication.


  • Prior sales, customer service or business experience preferred

Other Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn the sales process and apply it effectively.
  • Ability to follow a scripted call format.
  • Possess temperament to accept and apply coaching.


Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to offsite offices, customer sites and/or industry and training events may also be required.
