Both the Bismarck, North Dakota office and Houston, Texas office of Golder Associates Inc. are looking for qualified candidates to fill Environmental Scientist / Engineer positions with a focus on the oil and gas sector.

Responsibilities include:

1. Provide technical support on a variety of environmental compliance, regulatory permitting, site remediation, and emergency spill response projects.
2. Perform environmental investigations, collect environmental data, prepare technical reports and maps, and complete permit applications along with other regulatory documents.
3. Assist with and prepare SPCC Plans, SWPPPs, Phase I ESAs, and other environmental plans and documents involving air quality, water management, and waste management.
4. Gain increasing responsibility in project and proposal management through training provided by Golder and by working with senior staff and management.
5. Interacting with clients, regulators, and Golder staff to meet task, schedule, and budget requirements is a key to success in this position.
6. Regulatory review and research will be required, along with determining regulatory applicability to processes and problems.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Natural Resources, Geology, or similar scientific/engineering disciplines. Master's degree preferred.

2. Strongly prefer a minimum of 1 year experience in performing environmental field work (as outlined in the position responsibilities) and experience with GIS is strongly preferred.
3. Field and/or construction experience is strongly preferred.
4. General understanding of the state and federal environmental regulatory structure; excellent writing skills; and proficiency with Microsoft products.
5. Experience with wetlands and ecology is a plus, but not required.
6. Experience with cultural resources is a plus, but not required.
7. Expected to have strong skills in mathematics, data analyses, data interpretation, and technical writing.
8. Must be capable of effectively representing themselves in a professional setting and must possess good communication skills.
9. Candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to interact with colleagues while arriving at solutions to complex project problems.
10. Experience with oil and gas projects, including pipelines, is preferred.
11. Regular travel in the state of North Dakota and Texas, including travel for extended assignments to other states, is required.
12. Report writing and field/construction documentation skills are required.
13. The ability to communicate constructively with contractors, owners, and senior Golder personnel is essential.
14. Current OSHA 10-hour and 40-hour HAZWOPER certifications preferred.
