Job Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly motivated Civil/Geotechnical Engineer with recent mine site experience to join our Mine Waste Design group. This is initially a 12 month fixed-term contract position based in our Perth office, with the opportunity to evolve to a permanent position dependent on project work. You will be involved in a variety of technically challenging projects and have access to leading industry experts to mentor and guide you. This role will suit an individual with recent fieldwork or construction supervision experience with a particular interest in transitioning into a design role with exposure to the civil design aspects of mine waste (tailings) management, landfill, and other related civil engineering fields. Previous experience in earthworks construction, including liner deployment, will be highly regarded.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Travelling to a variety of sites in Australia and potentially overseas to oversee construction of tailings storage facility designs developed by our Mine Waste team;
* Managing the specification and implementing design changes while on site;
* Undertaking geotechnical site investigations and reporting;
* Developing designs for tailings storage facilities and other earth structures;
* Undertaking design assessments, including stability and seepage analyses;
* Preparation of technical deliverables such as proposals and reports; and
* Working with, and providing support to, other members of the group, as required.

Job Requirements:
To be successful, you will have a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or equivalent. It is expected that you will have strong written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for fieldwork. Previous consulting experience will be favourable.
