Job Description

Enclipse has a contract opportunity with a major client in Pleasanton for an Epic Chronicles/Cache (MUMPS) Programmer. Initial duration is one year.

.* TO BE CONSIDERED (client will not interview unless you have the following:).*
* 5+ years Cache (MUMPS) development
* 2 years of Epic Chronicles development


Senior Cache(MUMPS)/Epic Chronicles Programmer

Sr Cache(MUMPS)/Epic Chronicles Programmer will be responsible for analysis, design, development and implementation of applications. You will be primarily responsible for solutions design from requirements provided including required approach.
You will collaborate with a team of Subject Matter Experts, Vendors, Technical Project Managers, etc to effectively deliver projects & initiatives and you will require the capability to work in large cross-functional teams. You will contribute to enterprise-wide strategic planning, technical governance for information exchange & harvesting, as well as assist in managing tactical responses.
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree required, preferably with emphasis in computer sciences, Information Systems, Engineering, HealthCare or Medical Informatics.
At least 8 years of proven hands-on experience in application development and application design with strong background in
At least 5 years Intersystems Cache/MUMPS development experience, preferably in Healthcare
Hands-on experience and thorough understanding of Cache/MUMPS database and system administration.
At least 2 years server-side Epic (Chronicles) development experience
Thorough understanding of Epic applications development methodologies.
Hands-on experience with Epic technologies including Chronicles and Foundations.
Understanding of general database concepts, relational and hierarchical data models.
Thorough understanding of general concepts of IT, computing and software development.
Strong preference will be given to candidates who also possess Java development skills besides the Cache/Epic Chronicles programming. Java J2EE Software Engineer, Struts, Hibernate, JSP, EJB, Applications Servers like Weblogic/Websphere, JBoss.
Excellent problem resolution and analysis skills. Must be able to present complex data/concepts in a clear, understandable, and meaningful way for reporting to upper management. Strong written and verbal communications skills, including effective meeting management; prepare and present (PowerPoint/Visio); documentation templates for various procedures when needed. Good analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Able to work well as part of a team as well as be self-motivated. Must be open to flexible work schedule to remain in-step with project and organizational needs. This position may require travel up to 15%.
Desire and strong ability to learn and apply new skills and concepts, appreciate and explore new ideas. Must be able to discuss and implement new ideas, techniques and methodologies as well as develop appropriate code and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Healthcare industry technology/standards and emergent technologies preferred.
2. Familiarity with at least one major EMR/EHR vendor product, eg Epic.
3. Familiarity with at least one relational DBMS, eg Oracle; hands-on experience using SQL.
4. Hands-on experience working in Unix (any flavor) or Linux operating system and Shell scripting.
5. Familiarity with Clinical Data Model, Terminology Services
6. Consulting experience is preferred.
7. Experience working in a Matrix environment preferred.
