The challenge

Search is a critical part of Adobe's Creative Cloud offering. Creative professionals and novice users alike need quick access to their files, libraries, and the variety of creative assets they work with every day, from brushes to colors and beyond. They need to find what they've created, the things that have been shared with them, and even have the opportunity to search a marketplace of stock photos, illustrations, and design assets.

We're looking for top notch search engineers at all levels in the areas of search architecture, indexing, Elasticsearch, Lucene, relevance & ranking, data mining, machine learning, data analysis & metrics, query processing, multi-lingual search, and search UX. Position Summary

Become part of the team which improves the internal search engine for Adobe Stock, the leading marketplace for stock photography. Search is at the very core of the service offered to the customers, with 13 languages covered, 40 millions of images from all over the world and millions of searches every day. The objective is to make it a world class, leading edge, differentiating asset in terms of search effectiveness but also of experience.

What you'll do

Maintain and optimize current search engine, identify new ideas to evolve it, develop new features and benchmark possible solutions, in terms of search effectiveness but also user experience, performance and feasibility. Expertise in Elasticsearch, development of plugins, Lucene internals. Ability to implement new scoring formulas and work closely with other engineering teams (front/UI, data, etc). Ensure search upgrades/ features are released and integrated into the website with the help of the front/UI engineering teams

What you need to succeed

BS or MS in Computer Science
Elasticsearch experience, and experience with Javascript languages like PHP or Python Search theory, tf/idf, inverted indexes. Proven track record of releasing features and optimizations into production.
2 years of experience. Java
Would be helpful: Natural Language Processing, deep learning, neural network, visual search
