Job Description

An excellent Software company that is expanding rapidly and extending its offering to a complete talent sourcing solution leveraging multiple channels including professional and social networking. As we expand, we are looking for talented individuals who share our passion and can help develop and take to market the next generation of solutions.


The technical team is 40 people and growing. You will work as part of a small agile team to produce high quality applications that will add to the growth and value of the business. You will be encouraged to contribute to all phases of the project life cycle and will have opportunity to contribute to what and how things are built not just in building them. You will primarily be working on establishing a new innovative product within the company offering which will be used to support the company's growth into new markets. Our products are presented via the web and we operate exclusively off a Linux/Apache/MySQL cluster. 


As a developer the candidate will be required to:
Develop a good understanding of the business and the value proposition of the product
Work as part of an Agile development team turning product needs into high quality live solutions and supporting them technically
Develop, test and deliver high quality font and Back End applications that meet requirements
Demonstrate passion for the product, share ideas, approach and experience with your peers. 

Experience of working in an agile environment
Experienced PERL developer, good understanding of conventions on a Linux platform.
Demonstrate an understanding of what it takes to build scalable enterprise applications.
PERL, Linux, MySQL, Ajax, CSS/HTML, JavaScript
Good usability and user interface design intuition
Be able to adequately communicate with non-technical staff and clients to correctly interpret requirements.
Self-disciplined and motivated
Open to new approaches/learning
Strong analytical and reasoning skills
Understanding of web development architecture
Commercial software development experience.

Desirable Skills
Enterprise search experience (Lucene, Elastic Search)
IT related degree or Other
We use many open source libraries and modules including AJAX libs (prototype, moo FX, Jquery) plus a host of CPAN modules.
