Job Description

Sol Systems ("Sol") is a leading renewable energy financier and developer dedicated to creating a platform for compassionate entrepreneurs to have a meaningful impact in the world. The Company has financed or developed more than 850 megawatts of solar energy assets to date.

Sol Customer Solutions is seeking a Summer Intern for our Business Development team in our Washington, DC office. The intern will provide research support for the team and assist with locating new potential customers. We are looking for someone creative and curious who can take initiative and own their projects, and provide insights and suggestions to better the team.

The intern can expect to learn about solar industry and solar development, customer origination and marketing strategies, and solar project finance and modeling. There is also an opportunity to learn about Solar Policy, variables that affect a solar project, how to use solar design software (Helioscope) and how the electric grid works.

The Business Development Intern will be responsible for:

* Provide research support as SCS Business Development team investigates new state markets and customer verticals
* Complete early stage diligence for potential customers, including vetting sites, estimating customer energy needs, and identifying specific employees to contact
* Support the completion of solar proposals for interested customers and request for proposal (RFP) responses
* Additional responsibilities may be assigned

* Business, Environment or Energy related undergraduate major preferred but not required
* Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
* Hungry to build something that you will own

Location & Hours: This position will be based at Farragut North in Washington, DC. We are looking for a candidate who can commit between 30-40 hours per week.
