Job Description

Department Summary:

The Education Division supports teachers and learners at all levels. More specifically the American Association of Chemistry Teachers (AACT) supports K-12 teachers of chemistry through resources, networking, and professional development.

Position Summary:

AACT is seeking an intern to help review and develop resources published on the AACT website, conduct research to improve existing programs, assist with marketing efforts, and generally support its growth and development.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Assist with the review of AACT resources by adding question sheets, answer keys, and other items as needed
* Editing resources for basic clarity and formatting
* Working with staff to test older labs and refine procedures
* Support marketing efforts by conducting outreach to AP Summer Institutes and other events
* Help conduct research on Title 1 schools for the Science Coaches program
* Support member outreach campaigns and correspond with AACT members via e-mail

Education Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be going into their junior or senior year of college, pursuing a degree in Chemistry Education or Chemistry (pre-service teacher

Required Qualifications:

* Some coursework in teaching and education
* Very strong writing and communication skills
* An interest in non-profit operations and willingness to contribute to a team
