Job Description

Kite Pharma is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel cancer immunotherapy products designed to harness the power of a patient's own immune system to selectively target and kill cancer cells. Our core technology involves the genetic engineering of T cells, or white blood cells, to express either chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) or T cell receptors (TCRs) for the treatment of advanced solid and hematological malignancies. We are on a rapid growth trajectory and have a highly energized and accomplished team. Kite is publicly traded (NASDAQ: KITE) with a current market capitalization well over $2 Billion.

* Create working stocks of cells by conducting iPSC line passaging and freezing
* Create specific plasmids for LVV and perform transduction
* Develop needed cell lines frozen and usable for Kite
* Review, assess and optimize current protocols to enhance the scalability of iPSC handling for large screening

The intern project will include cloning a new plasmid and utilizing it to develop a required iPSCline to support our iPSC team. The Intern will work on iPSC protocol optimization to simplify current protocols and help scale up for large screens. The Intern will gain a broad understanding of and hands-on experience in stem cell culture handling, cloning, experimental design and protocol optimization. The Intern will also learn basic laboratory etiquette and have exposure to the intricacies of industry protocols.
