Job Description

Position Type: PRN

Scheduled Hours per 2 week Pay Period: 0

Primary Location: NE > PAPILLION > MIDLANDS

Hours: 4:30pm start - evenings hours/some weekends

Important Note: Nicotine(including cigarettes, gum, patches, vapors, etc…) and marijuana is part of ourpre-employment drug screen

Not only are theyresponsible for making sure our patients receive their prescribed medication,but they also have to work with those patients and their families on how andwhen to take them correctly. They sometimes have to get creative. They work forour patients, from reconciling medications from different healthcareprofessionals to talking to patients about medication discounts and coupons. What you'll do:

* Prepares, fills and distributesunit-dose drugs. Performs medicationexchange at the appropriate times to the designated nursing units.
* Assists in the preparation of sterileintravenous admixtures which may include chemotherapeutics, cardioplegics, andtotal parenteral nutrition formulations under pharmacist supervision.
* Performs clerical functions such asmaintaining the prescription file, answering the telephone and triaging calls.
* Maintains adequate levels of drugs,intravenous solutions, and other supplies in the dispensing and admixture areasand records appropriately on the order-book items below minimum level. Maintains an order book of items belowminimum level.
* Performs duties in documentedaccordance with requirements of all regulatory and governing bodies. Mandatoryeducation from a system and department level is completed.

Requirements:

Registered in aschool of pharmacy, years 1-2. Must be registered in Nebraska or Iowa as aPharmacy Intern, registration must be held in the state of employment.

Preferred: Previoushospital experience. Knowledge of basic math, communication skills, and dataentry.
