Job Summary

The Rapid Deployment team partners with HR, Clinical Services Group, Performance Improvement, Patient Experience, and Operations to define, validate, assess, and deploy standard practice for elements of HCA's nursing strategy. The RDT enables execution of the nursing strategy by:

* Analyzing, piloting, packaging, deploying, and evaluating effectiveness of standard practices
* Ensuring each practice has a defined and accountable implementation vehicle
* Providing voice of Nursing Strategy into HR to integrate solutions and delivery to desired nursing outcomes

The consultant provides project management and analytical support to assigned projects, under the general supervision of a senior consultant and/or principle.

General Responsibilities

For assigned projects (which may vary in duration from 3 - 9 months), the Consultant has the following responsibilities:


* Produce metrics, measures, quantitative analyses, reports, and presentations to aid in analysis of potential RDT target projects, project set-up and execution, and project performance management.
* Using a variety of reporting or analytics tools as well as Excel and PowerPoint, create professional ad hoc analyses, measures, or reports.
* Builds hypotheses to test through additional quantitative and qualitative research.
* Contributes to development of recommendations for changes or improvements based on research and evidence to implement standard practices.

Facilitation / Development

* Structures and prepares materials for brainstorming, design, and development sessions.
* Assists in the facilitation of sessions to identify performance opportunities and process improvements, including identification of best demonstrated practices.

Project / Program Management and Communications

* Contributes to the development of an effective project plan and proactively communicates status of deliverables to project manager.
* Develops and maintains effective working relationships with project team members, including operations leadership (division and facility), functional areas (HR, CSG, PI, HealthTrust Workforce Solutions, etc.)
* Prepares for project/program status calls, and contributes to development of presentations to leadership.
* Executes projects according to standard RDT approach, including meeting preparation, minutes/follow-up items, status reports, etc. Contributes to development of project support tools as needed.
* Escalates issues to RDT or division leadership as necessary.


* Update RDT repository of standard practices, tools and reports as needed.
* Communicates timely and effectively in a matrix environment.
* Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement".


3 years of experience

HR/PI/Nurse Leadership/OD/or PM experience Preferred


Undergrad College Graduate Required

Special Qualifications (Required licenses, certificates, specific skills, personal traits, e.g., RN, CPA, able to type 90 wpm, detail orientation.)

* Master's degree preferred in business, organization development, healthcare administration, nursing, or related field
* 1-3 years' relevant experience
* Experience and/or skills in consulting, hospital operations management, health care financial management, and/or strategic planning and relationship management desired.
* Highly organized and able to quickly and easily translate workshops and project meetings into action items and follow ups for the team
* Preferably Nashville based, travel required up to 100%
* Advanced analytical skills including data models, business plans and translating raw data sets.
* Education and/or work experience in one identified area of expertise (RN education/leadership, process improvement, Organization Development, Analytics, Project Management, HR leadership).
