Overview

Austin Industrial, Inc. is a leading General Contractor that provides construction, maintenance, turnaround, specialty, and plant services within the oil, gas, chemical, power, and manufacturing industries. We are currently looking for knowledgeable college students to join our team as a Business Summer Intern.

This position is based in our La Porte, TX corporate office.

Responsibilities

We are seeking interns in several corporate office departments. The intern will work on a specific project, while learning Austin Industrial operations and processes.

Projects and duties for learning:

* Assignments vary based on department requirements
* Real world experience working with operations in your field of expertise - technical writing, safety, human resources, accounting, marketing, and business development
* Perform analytical reviews recommending creative ideas that enhance the overall business function
* Assist in daily activities learning different aspects of a business environment
* Participate in a project that combines book knowledge with real world experience leading to a complete product or process
* Additional responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

* Must be Junior or Senior college student working toward a degree in one of these fields: Business, technical writing, communications, occupational safety, marketing, human resources or accounting
* Must possess a 3.0 GPA or higher & be able to work up to 40 hours per week
* Intern job assignment is 12 weeks in the summer (mid-May through mid-August)
* Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
* Must have the ability to think analytically, present ideas professionally, and work in project teams

Physical Demands: The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Business Intern to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

* Regularly required to sit and/or stand during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day.
* Employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb.
* Ability to lift and carry at least 20 pounds.
