Grow what's next. Grow your future. Macomb is a Central Illinois research station whose major function is to deliver industry leading products in corn. Additionally, this station has other programs that support corn growth and product development. Supporting programs include: UAS aerial imagery, crop production research, data collection to build predictive crop models and much more!

We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for agriculture who wants to learn more about how a research station functions and the process of precision phenotyping.

The Predictive Agriculture internship will provide the opportunity for candidates to obtain diverse experiences across multiple functions responsible for integrated product development. Candidates will work as part of a team in field plot management, and precision phenotyping tasks associated with trait development, crop protection, digital ag and plant breeding projects. Tasks include but are not limited to data collection, soil sampling, plant dissection, sample analysis, and crop harvest. This position will provide a well-rounded experience in field research. Individual will be expected to lead groups and conduct a research project related to these trials. It could be expected of the individual to travel both in and out of state on overnight trips.

Qualifications

* Current sophomore or junior standing at an accredited university
* Education focus in Agronomy, Plant Physiology, Plant Pathology, Genetics, Biology or a related field
* Agricultural background beneficial
* Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0
* Must be enrolled at an accredited university at the time of internship
