We are seeking a highly motivated and results driven HR Assistant to join our Human Resource team for our headquarters in Herndon, Virginia.

In this role, you will provide administrative support in functional areas of a human resources department, which may include recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee and/or labor relations, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organization development and training.

Other duties include:

* Provide consistent and effective communication regarding candidate status and onboarding process
* Build relationships with recruiters and hiring managers and maintain, review and/or update program specific SOPs or hiring & onboarding requirements
* Responsible for e-file creation and tracking orientation status; Data entry and maintenance, to include processing various transactions in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS); Background & Drug Screening system, and HRIS
* Assist in initiating and monitoring clearance and background checks, as well as other candidate onboarding related tasks;
* Provide technical and general support to candidates and employees during the application and hiring process; and receive and respond to requests concerning HR policies, procedures, and processes via an online ticketing system and taking telephone calls.
* This role will also appropriately route requests and work cross functionally with Payroll, Security, Talent Acquisition, Tier 1 & 3, HR COE teams and other support functions. Will participate in enterprise HR program support, reporting, and reoccurring HR Operational activities by working closely with HR management and the HR Shared Services team.

Qualifications

* Requires an Associate's degree plus 2-3 years of experience in providing recruiting/HR support or customer service; Bachelor's degree preferred.
* Must be open to occasional travel to various and sites to support HR initiatives.
* Requires ability to work flexible hours as required by business or hiring needs.
* Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.

* iCIMS and/or CostPoint (or other HRIS) experience preferred.
* Advanced Excel skills preferred, with demonstrated experience with expertise in v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.
