Position Summary

Internship offered to electronics student. The Intern will provide hands-on support to the Flight Test Instrumentation Specialists.


* Research requirements and assist with design and construction of hardware (power supplies, control units, wiring, break-out and signal collector boxes)
* Assist with production of system and electrical wiring diagrams, write Technical Notes
* Learn and apply sensor solutions to flight test plans
* Assist with programming acquisition and recording equipment
* Perform data check, transfer, and basic analysis
* Help setup an accelerometer calibration bench

Qualifications Education:

High School diploma and currently seeking a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology or an electrical related technical degree. Strong interest in electronics and mathematics.


Some office work environment preferred Requires the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form with internal and external customers. Must be well organized and have good time management skills. Ability to use computers, and associated software.

Essential Functions

Onsite: 100% of time as allowed by school schedule.

Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents and reports.

Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds including safety warnings or alarms.

Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.

Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools.

Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30 lbs.

Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30 lbs.

Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.

Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at desk, in meetings, working on computer.

Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.

Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
