Job Description

Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair and maintenance of buildings, infrastructure, and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Budget Analyst who will be responsible for complex analysis, reporting, and financial support of capital and non-capital construction projects. A successful candidate will possess excellent critical thinking and analytical skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills. The candidate must be willing to challenge current processes and work with others to implement efficiencies.

Duties Include:

* Responsible for providing financial support from capital and non-capital project authorization to project closeout including funding and project/work order setup.
* Collaborates with project management teams to prepare construction budgets, monitor expenses and generate cash flow projections
* Make recommendations and provide funding assistance based on restrictions and authorization limitations that could impact the project
* Review project transactions to ensure accuracy with great attention to detail
* Creates detailed reports and queries by using software tools such as UBI, Tableau eBuilder, and Microsoft excel
* Exercises sound judgement in recommendations of financial decisions in a timely manner
* In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned

Position Compensation Range: $55,000.00 - $63,000.00


Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or related field.

Experience: A minimum of two years of experience of professional experience in budget analysis, project reconciliation, and financial management or accounting. Internship experience may apply.

Licensure: None

Physical Demands:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
