Job Opening: Customer Service Representative

The Littleton Electric Light and Water Department is accepting applicants for the position of Customer Service Representative. Under general supervision of the Business Office Supervisor, candidate performs full range of customer service, customer relations, and clerical entries for all customers.

Job Responsibilities: Maintain database of customer account information. Respond to a variety of customer inquiries, requests, and complaints related to utility accounts in order to effectively resolve customer needs. Process applications for new customers. Arrange for service connections, disconnections or transfers of service as required. Direct an aggressive change out program for meters. Knowledge of rates, billing practices, consumption calculations, and the ability to explain these items to customers. Prepare and record payment batches and make daily bank deposits. Communicate clearly and concisely with others, both verbally and in writing, including answering phones, responding to emails, and interacting with customers in person. Ability to use two-way radios in a calm, strong voice to communicate with field personnel. Provide telephone support during outages and other emergency situations, may be required to work extended shifts, including weekend and overnight hours. Perform other related duties as assigned by department.

Qualifications: Bachelors' degree, or minimum of 3 years customer service experience and Associates degree. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including MS Word and Excel, various office equipment, multi-line phone system. Must be capable of multitasking and working in an environment of frequent interruptions. Have a pleasant demeanor both on the phone and when interacting with customers, coworkers, and the public. Willingness to assist on multi-department projects and community events.
