Job Description

Position Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator contributes to the effective delivery of Human Resource Services across the organization through coordination of HR programs and policies, budget activities, audit and compliance reporting, HR KPI tracking, maintaining accurate employee records, general HR support, and providing timely delivery of HR services.

The coordinator will provide basic HR Generalist support with primary responsibilities in the area of HRIS data management, data reporting for annual processes and data distribution. In addition, the Coordinator will provide administrative support in the areas of compliance, recruitment, onboarding, compensation, and budget.

Position Responsibilities

Responsible for coordinating and meeting operational objectives and targets of strategic HR Programs as outlined by HR Leadership in the areas of:

HRIS Data Management/Management of Change

* Ensure accuracy of data in the HRIS System, seek process improvements in system maintenance, and work with the HRIS Analyst to implement and test changes.
* Ensure employee records are accurately maintained; on file, in the HRIS system, and within the internal HR Systems.
* Coordinate employee change materials including new hire orientation schedules, organization announcements, employee change forms, reporting changes, and new hire set up in HRIS system.
* Maintain Time-off and Leave module in HRIS System, including the maintenance of annual holiday schedules and time off plans, manual adjustments associated with employee changes, and program modifications when required.
* Conduct annual testing of Time-off and Leave module in HRIS system.

Benefits Administration

* Provides support to the HR Advisor with benefits administration/changes and leave processes (including FMLA, Disability, Leave of Absence).
* Provide support to plan administrator with changes and communications related to Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) and 401(k) programs
* Assist with planning and coordination of annual benefits meetings and distribution of materials.
* Assist with plan changes during open enrollment and ensure all updates are made in the HRIS System
* Assist with the coordination of EAP services and employee awareness.

Compensation Planning

* Assist in planning, preparation, and submission of annual compensation data survey requests.
* Preparation of annual merit/compensation letters.
* Provide support in the organization and preparation of official communications.


* Participate and contribute to annual budget process, providing accurate budget estimates for relevant program initiatives.
* Consolidate HR Department budget details and transmit to Finance in alignment with annual budgeting process.
* Review monthly budget details to ensure accuracy of cost coding, confirm findings with HR Leadership and provide feedback on budget changes to be reforecast.

Compliance Reporting

* Assist with report preparation and data consolidation for annual compliance reporting activities.
* Support Audit process with data collection and organization.

HR Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)

* Track HR KPI's and prepare KPI communications for review and validation by HR Leadership
* Maintain headcount, vacancy, and staffing change details.
* Maintain Organizational charts and distribute to key stakeholders.


* Maintain current knowledge of USA Human Resources legislations, practices and trends.
* Assist with all internal and external HR related matters.
* Support and participate in workforce planning initiatives.
* Support HR Advisors with relocation and immigration support related to global assignments.
* Participate in developing and maintaining organizational guidelines, policy, and procedures.
* Supports the coordination of the pre-employment process including conducting background screens and reference checks and preparing employment documents.
* Assist in the coordination of orientation activities/onboarding processes and update records of new staff.
* Supports the University recruiting process including Graduate in Training (GiT) and Intern Program.
* Contribute effectively to onboarding and out-processing activities to ensure seamless transitions and well documented processes.
* Reinforce Methanex culture and values through customer service and employee interface
* Seek opportunities to drive forward continuous improvement and operational excellence in the area of Human Resources.
* Support HR related projects as required
* Contribute to the compilation of accurate HR Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.
* Contributes to the organizational vision of Global Methanol Leadership and as a team member demonstrates the core values of Trust, Respect, Integrity, and Professionalism.
* Conducts all business in a manner which supports the Responsible Care® ethic
* Networks with other Methanex sites to the mutual benefit of all sites
* Responsible for ensuring awareness of all controlled documents relating to this position as per Document Awareness Report from Document Management Database
* Contribute to the 'operational excellence' for Methanex USA as an effective member of the Human Resources department

Position Qualifications

* 5+ years relevant work experience preferred
* Microsoft Office Suite application (Word,Outlook,Powerpoint, andExcel) knowledge is required
* Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
* Strong attention to detail
* Organization and planning skills are a must.
* Strong drive for results and action oriented, self-starter
