Essential Functions:

* Paid internship working in Strategic Analytics at EMC
* Participates in projects relating to data science, reporting, data governance, data wrangling, and/or analytics
* Projects may include gathering and assessing data, predictive modelling, NLP, building customized dashboards, or other data and analytics-focused tasks to further the department's goals
* Learns about EMC, departmental culture & structure, and functions across branches
* Develops understanding of insurance operations, statistical analysis, data management and computer programming

Education & Experience:

* Mathematics, statistics, computer science, or data analytics major
* Completion of junior year preferred
* Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
* Experience with or exposure to SQL, R, Python, or similar programming languages

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Analytical ability
* Strong organizational skills
* Sound decision-making and problem-solving
* Attention to detail
