Responsibilities

The accounting intern will work closely with various staff accountants on many aspects of accounting and financial reporting. This is a great chance to learn and gain exposure in the accounting and real estate industry. The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated person who thrives in a dynamic work environment, demonstrates a flexible and adaptable work style, and responds quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines. This position will be based in Related Beal's corporate office in Boston.

* Work with staff accountants on the day to day accounting functions (AP, billing and cash management)
* Attend various meetings the accountants have with the operations and development teams
* Assist in the preparation of monthly development funding requisitions
* Assist in the reconciliation of existing and on-going projects
* Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting
* Support system improvement initiatives, including streamlining and automating processes
* Assist with special projects and ad hoc requests
* Involved in site visits to tour the properties

Qualifications

* Degree in Accounting or Finance with strong interest in pursuing CPA preferred
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* A highly entrepreneurial, self-motivated and results-oriented individual
* Proficient in excel
* Keen attention to detail
* Team player
* Strong organizational skills
* Excellent professional demeanor with the ability to work with a wide range of levels of management
* A strong passion for Real Estate
* Previous part-time work experience or internship
