AVIATION INTERN

FLIGHTSAFETY COLUMBUS LEARNING CENTER

Reports to Assistant Center Manager

BASIC FUNCTION: The Office Intern is responsible for providing professional, efficient, responsive Service for FlightSafety International Customers and co-workers by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.

Teamwork - Internal & External Activities:

As an intern, you will gain valuable insight and complete relevant projects in the following departments: Human Resources, Standards, Pilot Training and Center Management. Given the wide variety of projects you will be working on, self-motivation and a desire to learn outside of the supervisor assigned tasks will be essential in this position.

Documentation/Reports Activities:

Perform clerical duties as required, including reports, documents, correspondence, and customer training records.

Daily Responsibilities:

Develop Courseware for Internal Teammate Training, training delivery of enrichment courses to Internal teammates, provide simulator seat support and class attendance for new hire and transitioning instructor qualification, maintain FlightSafety International's commitment to Customer satisfaction while performing job duties, accountable for the security of FlightSafety International materials, projects, and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FlightSafety International products, accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks, able to adhere to a required work schedule including prompt and regular attendance, report on a timely basis, any safety hazards observed in work area, equipment, and/or building to appropriate person(s) for correction and support FlightSafety International's, and its subsidiaries', commitment to ethical behavior by basing our priorities on lawful and ethical conduct as we deal with co-workers, Customers, vendors and others in all of our operations. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prioritize workload on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, provide clerical support for other support positions, train and cross-train, as required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE (Minimum Requirements):

Currently enrolled in an accredited university with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:

Valid Driver's License, where applicable.

Prefer Instrument Rating

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; able to speak, understand, read, and write

Excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational skills

Demonstrate strong analytical aptitude

Ability to interact with various levels of management in a professional manner

Ability to adapt to changing schedules and high pressure situations

Able to work unsupervised, as needed

Minimum commitment of 10 weeks commitment and less than 30 hours per week for summer internships; minimum commitment of three months and 10 hours per week during spring, fall or winter internships.

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

IBM PC and/or compatible computer, with printer

SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

General knowledge of the following software: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.

Preferred Database: - MS Access. Other software programs may be required, as needed.
