Job Description

At Omegon, we seek motivated and compassionate advocates for teens dealing with both mental health and substance use difficulties who can provide empathic relationships with healthy boundaries paired with a foundation of clear limit setting and the ability to implement program and policies. The facility is located in the west metro (near highways 169 and 394) with easy access to public transportation. Omegon serves male and female adolescents from ages 12-17 in a trauma-informed setting. As a critical team member providing counseling to residents you will have the opportunity for continued development in the context of a multidisciplinary team. As a Residential Counselor you will be instrumental in creating life changing differences in youth's lives; teaching, supporting and providing skills development to increase quality of life for these teens. In this role ongoing training and supervision is seen as highly important investment in both our team members and for our residents to get the best care possible. We offer flexible scheduling with varied shifts that include days, evening and weekend hours.

What you will do:

* implement appropriate treatment plan interventions and goals that are individualized and developmentally/age appropriate

* assist youth in learning to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and intern changing feelings and behaviors

* utilize de-escalation and calming strategies when residents experience stressors in treatment

* document residents daily progress and communicate needs across team members

* apply crisis interventions when needed (during behavioral or mental health crisis)

* provide structure and stability serving as a role model and advisor to teens
