Purposes

This HR intern position supports the Human Resource Generalists within the Information and Communications Systems Department (ICS) with the coordination and analysis of HR metrics and execution of basic human resource duties. You would learn and work in human resource information systems and will be responsible for coordinating the efforts of various projects. This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel. This is a 40 hour per week internship that is anticipated to last 12 months. Normal office hours are between 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. This internship represents an exciting opportunity to work for one of the largest employers along the Wasatch front.

You would be working in Riverton, UT.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an upbeat and dedicated individual who loves to learn new skills and is capable of working independently or in a group setting.

* Perform data analysis regarding employee demographics, position information, performance calibration, compensation, etc.


* Collect information needed to make decisions


* Generate queries


* Assist with day-to-day generalist tasks


* Assist in responding to employee requests


* Maintain other HR processes as assigned


* Take on responsibility for small projects/special assignments


* Coordinate efforts of partners on projects and assignments such as HR Generalists and Recruiting team


* Prepare presentations for key partners to facilitate decisions


* Partner with professionals within the department to collect information to complete tasks


* The HR Intern is critical in supporting many aspects of HR in ICS as we assist and support computer and technology professionals.



Qualifications

* You should be currently enrolled in an accredited college or graduated within the past year


* Flexibility and the ability to prioritize changing requirements to meet urgent requests is required to be successful


* Willing and able to learn, get involved, and help improve the processes


* Expertise in using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook


* Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written


* Attention to detail, organization, and follow through


* Ability to establish priorities, problem solve, and make decisions quickly and effectively without direction


* Reliability and occupational maturity


* Ability to multi-task and demonstrate strong time management skills


* Ability to draft documents in a clear and concise way


* Demonstrate job flexibility and good team orientation


* Ability to work fast and efficiently while maintaining a calm demeanor


* Available to work a full-time 40 hours per week during normal business hours


* Applicants should be able to work well in urgent situations and complete assignments with short notice


* Preference given to applicants who have worked in an HR environment

Worthiness Qualification
