About the Position

Digital Promise has experienced explosive growth in the last few years with over five-fold increases in both our revenue and operating budget. This growth has resulted in increased complexity in our operations, including both our payables and receivables. The Finance and Operations team is looking for a part-time intern with the ability to start immediately. This position will be for one semester, with the possibility of extension into the summer semester. Workload will vary from week to week, but expected time commitment is 15-20 hours per week. This position would be great for a student that is looking to gain experience working in accounting, working with Quickbooks, and using Salesforce.

* Review vendor and customer accounts in Quickbooks (adding notes, contact information, marking as inactive, etc.)
* Add grant budgets to Quickbooks and run reports to track initiative-specific spending
* Enter contracts and opportunities in Salesforce
* Add contact information for donors, contractors, and vendors into Salesforce
* Organize vendor files for audit
* Assist with monthly credit card reconciliation
* Other duties as assigned

* High school diploma, or equivalent, and working towards an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or equivalent degree.
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage competing tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions.
* Ability to work in the DC headquarters for 15-20 hours per week
* Prior knowledge of accounting systems, especially Quickbooks Enterprise desktop, preferred.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* A passion for education, a team mentality, creativity, and a positive can-do yes-and spirit.

Compensation for this position is $14 per hour.
