We are seeking a Temporary - Accounting professional in our Pasadena headquarters office. The incumbent will be a highly skilled individual with an accounting and analytical background, and a strong technical accounting skillset who enjoys working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. He/she must also possess proficient excel skills, and have the ability to communicate at all levels, including C-suite and executive management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assist with acquisition accounting, including but not limited to:
* Preparing purchase accounting analysis
* Preparing settlement statement review

* Assist with preparing financial analyses, including but not limited to:
* Preparing analyses to assess the impact of new accounting literature updates
* Performing data mining to analyze leasing and property statistics.
* Preparing accounting memorandum to document new processes

* Assist with the month-end close process, including but not limited to:
* Preparing/reviewing journal entries such as accruals, prepaid expenses
* Preparing/reviewing fluctuation analysis for property balance sheet and income statement trends

* Assist with process improvement projects, including but not limited to:
* Data validation testing for JD Edwards Accounting software enhancements
* Abstracting information from a manual source and input in the JD Edwards database
* Gathering supporting documentation from the Accounting team members for management review

* Assist the Financial Reporting team with quarterly and annual reporting requirements, including the preparation of supporting schedules for the preparation of the Company's SEC filings.
* Perform accounting and peer research when required
* Assist Accounting Department with ad hoc analysis and special projects

Qualifications and Experience:

* Bachelor or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
* CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred
* 10+ years of related experience required
* GAAP knowledge is required
* Quick learner and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to prioritize deadlines
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Attention-to-detail is required
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook
* Public accounting experience preferred
* Real estate background preferred
* Good knowledge of real estate experience preferred
* Advanced Excel skills preferred
* JD Edwards experience is a plus
