Job description

The Document Support Intern works within the Quality Department to provide support to the Safety, Security, and Emergency Management (SSE) Team. This position functions as a liaison with the Quality Department and the SSE Department. This position assists to provide organization to the SSE department's written procedures by categorizing existing documentation, and assist to identify the need for developing new procedures. This position assist in the documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) by working with the SSE Department to record specific process steps and with the Quality Team to assemble standardized documentation. The intern will have the opportunity to understand the business process implementations in a manufacturing organization, insights of quality management system requirements, and health & safety regulations.

Tasks and Responsibilites:

* Support problem-solving analysis; assist to create process documentation and process mapping.
* Provide support to the Quality and SSE departments to update existing documentation.
* Organize new and existing policies into a structured format.
* Update spreadsheets with evolving project data
* Record work descriptions from dictation.

Qualifications

* Currently enrolled in an accredited Safey & Health Management Program, with a desire to purse a career with a manufacturing facility.
* Candidate must be computer savvy and have the ability to multi-task.
* Basic knowledge of manufacturing environment and engineering principles as it relates to safety, security, and quality.
* Strong interpersonal skills, high-impact communication skills, project management skills.
* Proficient in MS Office Suite, to include strong Excel skills.
* Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or ISO9001 is a favorable attribute
* Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally in English and in writing.
