About This Role:

The Customer Experience Index (CX Index™-) product team supports our clients with the most complete and powerful proprietary CX tool in the market today. The CX Index evaluates nearly 600 brands across 16 industries in North America, Europe, and Asia. It gives our clients a deep and actionable understanding of the quality of their customer experience, provides competitive benchmark data so that our clients know how they stack up against their peers, and enables the ability to model which improvements will have the biggest impact on our clients' revenue.

The Data Science Intern is a key member of the CX Index product team. Using survey-based transactional, operational, and behavioral data, you will perform data analysis to drive insights. We're looking for a candidate who can help create cohesive stories based on clear and persuasive analysis.

Responsibilities

* Support the analytics work of the CX Index product team using statistical techniques, including descriptive analysis, correlation, and linear regression. Knowledge of or experience with other statistical methods is a plus (e.g., factor and cluster analysis, time series analysis, or machine learning).
* Work with the CX Index team to develop an appropriate set of analyses and data insights to address clients' customer experience needs.
* Explain basic and more advanced analytic techniques to internal colleagues in a clear, persuasive way.
* Support production of deliverables such as PowerPoint presentations and Excel documents.

Qualifications

* A strong record of academic achievement. Areas of study should be in one of the following areas: statistics or mathematics, psychology, sociology, or economics.
* Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with statistical analysis, especially linear regression modeling; the ability to do (or knowledge of) factor and cluster analysis, or other statistical modeling, is a plus.
* Demonstrated ability to articulate analytic results to a nonquantitative audience.
* Experience using statistical packages such as R or Python, with a preference for R.
* Experience working with survey data is a plus.
* A drive to learn new things and an enthusiasm to keep up to date on the latest analytical techniques.
* Sharp attention to detail and high personal standards for quality and thoroughness.
* Superior listening, critical thinking, and writing skills.
* The ability to work with a team under tight deadlines and to handle multiple tasks.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a global research team.
* Familiarity with understanding consumer behaviors through related studies like psychology, marketing, economics, sociology, or anthropology or through work experience.
