If our purpose statement and quality standards are something you believe in, we invite you to apply for this position. One of the expectations of employment in the Family History Department is a willingness to do Family History research and help others do the same.

This position is to assist in the Guest Services Team in the Family History Library, helping with software and computer troubleshooting and facility requests. They would be required to ensure the Discovery experiences and computer equipment are working properly during business hours. The intern would work on weeknights, and weekends, including one Sunday a month on a rotating basis with another intern.

Responsibilities

* Open and close the Family History Library on weeknights and weekends, including being the on-duty supervisor to help with emergency and security needs.
* Help guests with computers, account sign-in and word processing problems, internet connectivity, and report facility problems.
* Keep copy machines and vending machines supplied and functioning.
* Staff the Quality Response Center window to help with Lost and Found and Library Donations.
* Be on-call to help guests while on duty.
* Train and supervise volunteers.
* Work on other special projects as needed.

5% May be required to train and motivate other employees and Church-Service Missionaries.

Qualifications

* should be currently seeking a bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, computer science, family history, or other degree, OR have obtained a bachelor's or master's degree.
* Good technology, computer skills and trouble-shooting ability.
* Skilled in the use of Word and Excel software programs. A knowledge of other computer programs is desirable.
* The ability to communicate, read, and write in English is required.
* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Experience with FamilySearch, Family Tree, and Indexing is preferred, but not required.
* Must be reliable and able to work independently.

Worthiness Qualification

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
