Assistant Maintenance Manager

NOTE: The following position is for proposed new business within First Transit. Only candidates meeting the work experience requirements will be considered.

As Assistant Maintenance Manager, your major responsibilities will include:

* Scheduling and administering fleet maintenance
* Communicating availability of vehicles for service
* Repairing and maintaining diesel engines and bus equipment
* Supervising maintenance operations. Delegating responsibilities as appropriate
* Ensuring compliance on a day-to-day basis with State, Federal and Company requirements
* Working closely with managers, providing status of maintenance and budget requirements
* Ordering fuel and parts, and subcontracting repair work as needed
* Training and motivating maintenance staff
* Completing all other assigned duties.

To be an Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will need:

* High school diploma or equivalent
* Technical training preferred
* Must be at least an "A" level Mechanic
* Must have a valid California Class B license
* Be willing to be on call on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays
* Industry experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines and automotive equipment
* 3+ years of hands-on mechanical supervisory experience
* May require lifting of up to 50 lbs.
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Computer skills
