Job Description

In this key role you will be defining the next-generation of mission-critical applications and tools used by Catasys colleagues who work daily to save the lives of those suffering from the medical consequences of untreated behavioral health conditions.

Success in this role requires you to connect design/research to other parts of the company through strong cross-functional collaboration, allowing design/research to be seen as a thought partner across all functions that have little or no familiarity in working with designers. You should have a diverse set of design/research methods and tools for addressing all the components and touch-points of a cross-channel service. You should have a track record of working on similar kinds of problems -- delivering evidence-based behavioral treatment protocols, access to peer support communities, intelligent pairing of treatment interventions to member needs.

To you, making sense out of complexity is a challenge worth seeking out. In approaching things systemically, you naturally zoom out to see the big picture, then dive in to highlight the important details in order to define what the right thing is to do and to determine what shape it can take. You will need to bring others along with you in this process and codify best practices and tools along the way. You'll help establish a foundational set of UX practices for iterative product evolution in an environment that is rapidly growing and has a bias for action.

The role will be based in our work space in Oakland's Temescal area which houses Product Management, User Experience and Technology teams. It's within walking distance to BART, our building -- built in the early 1900s - has a unique, industrial, open feel with plenty of neighborhood restaurant options just around the corner.
