POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Medical Social Worker assists in meeting the psychosocial needs of hospital patients by providing counseling, crisis intervention and complex discharge planning services to patients/families.

EDUCATION

Master`s Degree in Social Work

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

Licensure through the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners

EXPERIENCE

* 3 years of experience in a clinical/hospital setting
* Previous background experience with Psychiatric/Medical patient populations
* Previous experience working in a medium to large hospital setting
* Previous crisis intervention experience
