Job Description

Stellar Science is a growing Albuquerque-based scientific software development company seeking talented scientists who are interested in helping create, extend, and apply exciting scientific and engineering analysis applications. This is a new position at Stellar Science and we are looking for individuals interested in helping define this role and mature our applications. Specifically, applicants must be motivated, excited to learn new tools, and willing to dive in and help wherever they are needed.

We develop custom software products and are in specific need of someone with experience in Space Situational Awareness (SSA), space operations, satellite design, and imagery collection.

A Stellar Science Space Systems Analyst will be involved in all aspects of the application software life cycle, from marketing & business development to design, testing, documentation, and customer interaction along the way. They will work with management and the development teams to leverage and improve our applications to make our customers happy. We are looking for someone eager to learn and explore new domains, and possessing great verbal and written communication abilities as well as stellar presentation skills.

Applicants may range from recent college graduates to experienced engineers; the main requirements are that candidates be top-notch, responsible, self-motivated, honest, able to work well independently or in small teams, and be able to rapidly learn new tools, and techniques as needed to meet mission requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

* B.S. in physics, math, engineering, or a related field
* Confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities
* Exceptional computer skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with software testing
* Scientific analysis experience in one or more of the following domains as they apply to space applications:
* Image Simulation and Analysis
* Spacecraft Design
* Constellation Design / Orbitology
* Communication Systems
* ISR Systems
* Guidance, Navigation, and Controls
* Command and Control
* 3D CAD Modeling
* Directed Energy
* High Performance Computing (HPC)
* Modeling & Simulation
* Space Weather

* U.S. citizen, willing to undergo background investigation and perform some work at Kirtland Air Force Base


* M.S. or Ph.D. in a scientific or engineering field with substantial scientific analysis experience
* Experience in several of the domains listed above
