The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team of Frontdoor helps identify and solve complex predication problems to improve the overall experience for our customers. Our team is made up of curious, smart, quick-witted and talented people that make Frontdoor an exceptional company. We hire exceptional individuals, and we're looking to add members this summer though a data science internship to join our Finance team this summer.

You must be ready to evaluate and quantify new business ideas and perform data-intensive analyses to drive meaningful change and improvement to the way we serve our customers. * A 10-week paid internship where you will work with a high-energy team that's responsible for financial & operational reporting, analyzing business trends, business strategic support, and much more. The internship will allow you to gain real-world experience you won't find in the classroom by leading and contributing to projects from start to finish.

Where You Will Work:

* The internship is based in downtown Memphis, Tenn. at the company's headquarters.

What does our department do?

* The FP&A team focuses on internal and external financial reporting. We are responsible for providing information that describes the health of the business to senior executives, board members, and shareholders.
* We partner with the business to support initiatives that improves the profitability of Frontdoor.
* Our interns have the opportunity to analyze data and develop reporting that positively impacts every business function.

What will you be doing?

* Responsible for supporting accounting and financial analysis; including budgeting and forecasting to support business operations
* Assist in month end closing process and preparation for Monthly Operating Reviews (MOR)
* Actively participate in process improvements and team projects
* Designing and maintaining reports based on collected data
* Participate in data analytics projects
* Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements:

* An undergraduate student (junior or senior) or graduate student who is currently pursuing or has recently completed a degree in finance, accounting, supply chain management, operations and information systems, business administration and management, mathematics, economics or related field.
* Understanding of basic business, accounting and finance concepts, and a strong working knowledge of Excel
* Commitment to self-development and proven ability to receive and action feedback
* A practical and creative approach to problem solving
* Ability to summarize and communicate important data
* Strong interpersonal, written and oral skills
* Solid organizational and project-management skills
* Strong desire to exceed expectations
* GPA of 3.0 and above
* Available for a 10-week internship in Summer 2019
* Available to work 40 hours per week
