Job Summary

Must possess strong clinical knowledge and skills regarding operating room procedures. Must be a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude and good communication skills. Willing to have flexible work schedules and duties which will include ancillary duties as cleaning rooms between cases, stocking rooms, helping in the central sterile area, have a proven record to expedite room turn over, good organizational skills, and an understanding of importance of teamwork in a fast paced environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.

1. Completes and documents an initial patient assessment and performs ongoing assessment according to standards of care and patient conditions.

2. Develops plan of care.

3. Provides care according to policy and procedure.

4. Evaluates patient response to interventions.

5. Demonstrates proficiency in the nursing skills specific to area of practice

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:

* Active Kentucky License
* BCLS Required
* ACLS preferred
* OR experience required
* CNOR preferred
* BSN required except as noted: Individuals hired as a Staff RN prior to October 1, 2013 are grandfathered and exempt. Individuals actively employed by the system prior to October 1, 2013 are eligible for hire as a new graduate nurse without a BSN provided they enroll within 1 year of transfer and complete their BSN within 5 years of hire. Experienced RNs hired after October 1, 2013 who do not hold a BSN may only be hired with the approval of the CNO and/or applicable Vice President provided the RN enrolls in a BSN program within 1 year of hire and completes the BSN within 5 years of hire.
