Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President - Project Development, the Financial Associate is part of a collaborative team of professionals that work closely together executing on Brookfield Renewable's US business' growth initiatives. The team provides critical analytical support to Brookfield Renewable's power project development activities, business development activities, and power contracting efforts. The Financial Analyst is responsible for building and reviewing financial models, and assists with drafting presentations, preparing term sheets, analyzing proposals, and reviewing legal documentation. The Financial Associate would also contribute to business planning activities, M&A and strategic initiatives aimed at achieving long-term growth objectives. .

Responsibilities

* Develop financial models for development projects and strategic initiatives;
* Assist in the preparation of business plans for strategic initiatives
* Assist with the execution of business development initiatives
* Review and prepare term sheets for commercial and business development activities
* Assist in M&A due diligence activities;
* Prepare PowerPoint presentations targeted at senior management;
* Collaborate with a broad range of cross-functional resident experts to assess opportunities;
* Assist in strategy development in key growth areas.

* Solid analytical skills with strong attention to detail;
* Well organized and ability to synthesize and conceptualize complex ideas;
* Self-motivated with demonstrated initiative;
* Excellent written and oral communications skills;
* Heightened interpersonal and influencing skills;
* Able to meet multiple objectives in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment;
* Able to travel (management meetings and site visits);

Requirements

* Undergraduate/Graduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or Mathematics;
* A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in project/corporate finance, project/corporate development or investment banking;
* Strong financial modelling skills required; ability to build detailed, fully-integrated financial models and financial projections and analyze the impact of proposed transaction options;
* Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (financial modelling) and MS PowerPoint (presentations);
* Experience in power & utilities would be an asset.
