Position Details:

Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) and American Pets Alive! (AmPA!) rely heavily on the generosity of our communities, both near and far. Our organizations rely on strong, creative communication and brand consistency to keep the community informed, engaged, and mission-driven. This role has a focus on outbound communications to inspire the Austin Pets Alive! and American Pets Alive! communities to become - and stay - involved with our lifesaving work.

The Marketing Coordinator will work with and under the supervision of the APA! Marketing Manager and AmPA! Marketing and Communications Manager to help manage both brands, community relations and fundraising initiatives. This includes but is not limited to: developing and creating marketing content and visual collateral; supporting aggressive fundraising goals; tracking and analyzing campaign data and strategies; and working closely with staff and volunteers to carry out additional projects, as needed, in a fast-paced environment.

The Marketing Coordinator will be a self-starter who is exceptionally organized and professionally motivated to meet high standards and maintain positive, effective communications within and outside of the organization. S/he will be responsible for assisting in a wide range of successful marketing campaigns, communications and fundraising strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist in responding to inquiries from the general public, adopters, donors, fosters, volunteers and staff.
* In tandem with Managers, develop effective marketing content, collateral and oversee tactical implementation. This includes email and social content as well as printed promotional materials and merchandise designs.
* In conjunction with Managers and broader team, monitor social media for messages that require an organizational response.
* Collect and compile data and surveys for strategic marketing efforts, campaigns and sponsorship requirements.
* Create and maintain an ongoing database of key components and materials for both APA! and AmPA! marketing campaigns.
* Work with greater Marketing & Communications teams to review and approve any public-facing communications created by program team members and/or volunteers.
* Maintain professional, civil and warm working relationships with APA!/AmPA! staff and volunteer team members.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

* Relevant bachelor's degree
* Technical acumen and strong familiarity with marketing and/or communications principles; Background in writing, editing, communications, or marketing preferred
* Proven project management success, navigating competing priorities and deadlines
* Ability to work equally well independently and as part of a team
* High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and G-Suite
* Minimum basic graphic design skills, including Adobe Creative Suite experience - deeper experience a plus
* Experience working with WordPress and MailChimp
* Can-do attitude
* Ability to work with and around sick and injured animals
* Experience working with volunteers, Google Analytics, SEO or website redesigns a plus

Duration: 12 weeks starting November 19, 2018

Compensation: Hourly rate will be commensurate with experience.
