Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.

Adheres to area specific dress code.

Maintains pertinent certification / licensure and annual competencies as defined by job description and department guidelines without expiration.

Participates in assigned work area based on service triggers.

Participates in special functions as sponsored by Baptist Health Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation unless otherwise assigned.

Maintains productivity levels within acceptable departmental standards.

8.

Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job related hazards, and national patient safety goals.

Performs patient evaluations and re-certifications to establish appropriate and progressive treatment goals within departmental guidelines

2.

Develops and executes treatment programs for patients, making every attempt to evolve and progress treatments per each visit.

3.

Maintains all patient documentation current, complete and legible, as per departmental guidelines.

4.

Works closely with and provides supervision for PTAs, ATCs and Aides regarding patient care and departmental functions.

5.

Develops and instructs patients and their families/support persons in appropriate home programs.

6.

Demonstrates independence on a regular basis in day to day departmental functions: Serves as reliable resource to students, new graduates, teammates and as a cross trained staff member. Supervises and is responsible for the care of patients with teammates. Is well versed and independent in clinical problem solving and utilizes these skills with minimal supervision

7.

Develops programs to attain personal goals and participates in educational activities to insure further professional growth.

8.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to patients within the following age groups: child (1 - 12 years), adolescent (13 - 18 years), adult (19 - 59 years), and geriatric (over 59 years). This includes the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, assess requirements relative to age specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures, protocols, and/or program guidelines.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited School of Physical Therapy approved by the American Physical Therapy Association required. Current state licensure required. Maintains current BCLS certification. EXPERIENCE: Two years previous experience preferred; skill competency level. Very effective communication skills highly desirable.
