POSITION TITLE: Assistant Membership Manager

LOCATION/DEPT: Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center

REPORTS TO (TITLE): Membership Manager

FLSA CATEGORY: Exempt

STATUS TYPE: Regular Full-Time

PURPOSE STATEMENT

OUTCOMES

The Assistant Membership Manager provides oversight of welcome desk personnel and daily operations. Responsibilities include the implementation and adherence to cash control, customer relations and welcome desk communication procedures.

Responsibilities

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Supervise daily operations at the Welcome DeskReview opening and closing shift drawers and balance daily income sales with the AP Clerk.Provide oversight of all POS transactions and cash handling to ensure they are being completed according to standard operating procedures.Ensure Welcome Desk staff is aware of and clearly communicates all Kroc Center services, programs, and membership information to our guests.Manage and find resolutions for customer complaints.Create and maintain membership and welcome desk best practices.Maintain accurate records by using existing recreation software.Manage a system of forms, applications and reports so that transactions are processed securely and in compliance with federal standards.Maintain and enforce welcome desk and facility guidelines to patrons.Monitor approved budget for the Welcome DeskPurchase convenience and promotional items that are sold at the Welcome Desk.Supervise Welcome Desk StaffRecruit, hire, train, evaluate, schedule and supervise welcome desk staff.Initiate disciplinary action by presenting oral and written warnings to Membership Manager prior to meeting with employees.Conduct training that ensures staff is fluent in the operation of membership software and excellent customer service to guests.Must be knowledgeable of all emergency codes and procedures and implement/orchestrate these procedures as needed.Under the direction of the Membership Manager, assist with the development and execution of membership initiatives, including day pass sales.Manage customer retention issues and membership account accuracy within the recreation software database.Execute recruitment strategies for the sale of membership plans to non-members and retention campaigns to existing members.Follow standard operating procedures for key functions such as membership registration, orientation and customer service.Assist with prospective member toursAssist with the development and execution of member events.Implement, monitor and evaluate the member scholarship program and recommend changes to the Leadership Team.Network with other agencies, private businesses, local schools, colleges and universities who may be interested in purchasing memberships or day passes.Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

Minimum two years of experience with cash handling involving cash and credit card transactions.

Bachelor's degree in a related field of administration or business preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience that, in the sole discretion of The Salvation Army, provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully in the position will be considered.

Minimum two years supervisory experience with a workforce of at least 10 individuals.

Must have excellent computer skills with working experience of Microsoft Office products and register sales. Computer database application experience helpful. Ability to use new software programs with basic training.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This person is a part of the Membership Department.

This position reports directly to the Membership Manager.

The Membership Department reports to the Business Director.

This individual relates to, and interacts with, a wide range of contacts both within and outside The Salvation Army. In these contacts, they act as a representative of The Army and its mission.
