Care Advantage in Harrisonburg, VA is looking for dedicated, compassionate caregivers looking to make a difference in someone else's life. We are hiring PCAs and CNAs to provide care to those who need additonal help with their daily activities.

Job Description:

The Certified Nursing Assistant/Personal Care Aide (CNA/PCA) is a member of the nursing team that works under the supervision and direction of the Nurse Supervisor to perform the services necessary to care for the personal needs and comfort of our clients. The CNA/PCA works under the general or direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and follows the client's Plan of Care to help with activities of daily living, such as hygiene, toileting, meals, moving safely to activities or functions, and helping with basic housekeeping (making beds, keeping living areas organized, etc.). The ideal candidate for this position must meet one of the following education requirements:* Holds a certificate of completion from an approved Nurse Aide training program and/or is certified as a Nurse Aide by the Virginia Board of Nursing

* Has satisfactorily completed a nursing education program in preparation for a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse license
* Is enrolled in a Registered Nurse or Practical nurse education program in preparation for licensing and has completed at least one nursing course that includes clinical experience in direct client care
* Holds a certificate of completion for training using the "Personal Care Aide Training Curriculum" 2003 edition of the Department of Medical Assistance Services

In addition, he or she must have satisfactory references from previous and/or current employers, all certificates of training, be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen, and must have the communication and interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and others. Fluent English speaking and writing skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
