Job Description

POSITION: Municipal/Transportation Engineer I

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Municipal/Transportation engineer beginning Winter 2018 or May 2019, in our Madison, WI office. This position will primarily consist of construction and design engineering efforts on a variety of municipal and transportation projects for State, County, and Local Agencies. A knowledge of designing roadway and underground improvements with Civil 3D is preferred. This team orientated position will include working with Baxter & Woodmans diverse disciplines and offices.

POSITION DUTIES:

* Design Roadway, Underground Utility (water main/storm sewer/sanitary sewer), and Infrastructure improvements using Civil 3D.
* Conduct drainage, traffic, and various engineering studies.
* Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
* Complete engineering plans and specifications using WDOT Standards.
* Processing requests for approval from various regulatory agencies.
* Assist with construction engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
* Assist other project engineers and managers as needed during project delivery.

REQUIREMENTS:

* B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with anticipated F.E. ( Fundamentals of Engineering) certification
* 0-3 years of Transportation/Civil Engineering
* Relevant internship/co-op experience with municipal or highway agency transportation projects
* Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodmans service area (own transportation)
* Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities
* Strong written, verbal, computer and organizational skills
* E.I.T (Engineer in Training) with anticipated Professional Engineer
* Work within a team-first culture that encourages individual development and accomplishment of goals
