Job Summary

Barings' Global Investment Services group is seeking an Intern to join its Cybersecurity team. This internship will be located in the Barings' Charlotte, NC office. As a member of this team, the individual will be part of a fast-paced environment where they will assist in protecting and detecting against cyber-threats, attacks, and reducing cyber-risk of the firm. The ideal candidate has a proven appreciation and understanding of cybersecurity, problem solving, and programming knowledge.

Primary Responsibilities

* Day-to-day support of internally-developed processes, with a specific focus on cybersecurity
* Potentially investigating reported vulnerabilities and alerts
* Aid in the design of various projects stemming from security automation and orchestration (SAO) to endpoint protection
* Assist Information Security Governance, Security Operations, and Cybersecurity Engineering teams with various tasks
* Interact directly with cross-functional teams for requirements gathering
* Adhere to, and support the team in maintaining cybersecurity standards

Qualifications

* General knowledge of security
* Experience working with a functional programming language (Python, Ruby, PHP, etc.)
* Experience working with Cybersecurity technologies (academic or practical)
* Keep up-to-date with latest trends and threats
* Excellent written and communication skills to report on findings in a clear and structured manner
* Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's Degree with a focus on Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Mathematics, and/or Computer Science
* Good time-management, problem solving, organization, and analytical skills
* Experience working in environments that require strict adherence to change control policies
