What Will You Do?

Lumentum,an intense and exciting growing global company, is looking for interns to joinour creative team of engineers working to support fiber optic fabrication andtest station development and design verification. Our team is hard-working,smart, goal-oriented, and creative. We are looking for an intern who will participatein contributing to a critical process in fiber optic manufacturing aligning theoptical fiber to a laser source. In thisposition you will ultimately gain real-world hands on experience in a high techcompany and at the same time you will participate in an internship program thatincludes many exciting activities including lunches with executive teammembers, presentations, and more. Expect to learn about laser and fiberoptics and to leave this position with invaluable skills and industryknowledge.


* Work with engineers to reviewvarious search algorithms and apply them to the fiber alignment process
* Implement these search algorithms in software to control themotion control hardware which holds the fiber
* Analyze the data from the fiber alignment process and test resultsto determine the best algorithm
* Document and release changes to the software and test process.


* Minimum Senior standing towards a Bachelor's degree in SoftwareEngineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Process/ManufacturingEngineering
* US Citizenship or Permanent Residency Required for this position
* Programming experience, preferably in C#
* Strong analytic and statistical skills
* Ability to work independently
* Excellent hands-on, communication and team work skills
