Oneida Total Integrated Enterprises (OTIE) delivers full-service facility and infrastructure engineering design, environmental science, construction management and munitions response services worldwide, with over 25 years of successful project performance.

OTIE currently has an immediate opening for an Entry-Level Structural Engineer in our Madison office.

Our structural group has vast experience working on many types of project including: commercial, historical, state and federal with both renovation of existing, expansions, and the design of new structures. While a majority of our projects are within Wisconsin, we also design many projects across the country and overseas and the position may provide the opportunity for travel.

Job Description:

This position will perform various tasks including but not limited to:

Assisting more experienced engineers in broader engineering activities

Prepare basic sketches and performs calculations in support of broader engineer activities

Gather and record information to be used for writing specifications

Review shop drawings to assure compliance with specifications

Prepare technical studies and reports

Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

This opportunity requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree from an accredited college/university in Civil Engineering with a focus in structural engineering

0-4 year of relevant engineering experience in structural engineering through internships or equivalent work (masters degree with a concentration in structural engineering will be considered as 1 year work experience)

Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or able to obtain within one year

A working knowledge of engineering design and practices as related to buildings, retaining walls and other structures

Relevant state of the art computer program experience

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as RAM, Tedds, Adapt; Revit and/or AutoCad; MS Word and Excel)

Basic knowledge of building materials such as concrete, steel, wood and CMU.

Understanding of lateral systems and analyzing them based on wind and seismic forces

Prior knowledge of structural codes such as ACI 318, ACI 350, AISC Manual of Steel Construction, and ASCE 7.
