Pelican BioThermal has seen phenomenal growth in recent years and 2017 is expected to bring continued success as we expand our service offerings around the globe.  We are looking for a highly motivated Global Supply Chain Planner that will play a highly collaborative and visible role as part of a global, cross-functional team.  This position will be responsible for managing the global distribution of inventory, logistics management, and tracking the performance of planned supply/replenishment along with providing recommendations for ongoing program enhancements.

Principle Accountabilities:

Planning & Execution – 50%

  • Monitor global inventory and track performance
  • Manage and adjust inventory levels and execute necessary fulfillment strategy (e.g. inventory reallocation, increasing program inventory, etc.)
  • Assess supply and demand variations and proactively manage inventory levels and relocation activities to maximize financial performance
  • Coordinate activities across multiple global sites to meet product availability and customer service levels
  • Ensure product and location readiness for new product launches, extensions, product discontinuation, etc.

Customer Interaction/Business Partnership – 30%

  • Customer sales order fulfillment, execution, management, and invoicing accuracy
  • External and internal interface with customers, operations, business partners, and third party logistics providers
  • Coordinate and track logistics services as needed
  • Collaborate with sales to resolve any issues impacting customer service or operations efficiency
  • Manage reusable container program (tracking and retrieval for exceeded deployments)
  • Ensure that service levels are met and customer expectations exceeded
  • Coordinate review of any engineering changes with existing inventory
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to execute, evaluate and recommend common work processes, and improvement projects

Systems/Data Management, Reporting and Analysis – 10%

  • Provide regular, ongoing reporting that includes, but is not limited to current service levels, program performance, and KPIs
  • Participate/Lead Periodic Business Reviews with executive leadership to communicate current performance metrics

Continuous Improvement – 10%

  • Support implementation of process and system enhancements to improve supply chain efficiency
  • Analyze business trends and make recommendations for inventory growth or minimization based on analysis and trends
  • Support the implementation of best practices for inventory management and replenishment

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and experience in business, production planning, procurement, or a technical/industrial/supply or cold chain field
  • Minimum of three years of customer service or related work experience
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be detailed-orientated and have excellent data entry skills to ensure accuracy of information
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Prior experience in interacting effectively and cooperatively with employees, vendors, and customers at all levels
  • Experience in a fast-paced organization and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and have the ability to complete assignments within the time frame specified by the Manager

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • SAP Systems knowledge
  • Logistics experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Global experience

 

Physical requirements and working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to execute regular physical activities within the company areas (i.e. standing, walking, and sitting).  Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  This position requires prolonged sitting, computer and phone usage, and repetitive movements with hands and wrists.
