Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist will be working in a busy main OR, Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center, Endoscopy, Obstetrics and other ancillary services. The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Provider reflects the mission, vision, and values of Swedish Covenant Medical Group, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist functions as part of a multidisciplinary health team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high-quality, cost-effective advanced care to patients. The CRNA is responsible for the health outcome of an assigned patient population and consults, confers, and collaborates as needed to ensure best patient outcomes.

* Mechanical ventilation/oxygen therapy

* Blood, blood products, plasma expanders
* Peripheral intravenous/arterial catheter placement
* Central venous catheter placement
* Pulmonary artery catheter placement
* Acute and chronic pain therapy
* Post anesthesia care/discharge

QUALIFICATIONS/BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

* RN degree from an accredited school of nursing
* Advanced degree from an accredited school or college of nursing

Licensure and Certifications:

* Current license as a registered nurse
* Approved APRN board certification
* CRNA Certification

Skills:

* Demonstrated clinical competency, minimum 2-4 years' experience required, willing to take new grad.
* Effective leadership skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Demonstrated written and verbal communication and strong analytical skills
* Effective interaction to ensure the successful care of patients in the clinical care setting
* Documentation in the medical record to substantiate accurate billing

ENVIRONMENT

* Possible exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, air-borne diseases.
* Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries item weighing in excess of fifty pounds. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. Each employee is trained and is expected to observe all fire and safety procedures and blood born pathogen and hazard communications standards. Requires working under stress in emergency situations and during irregular hours.
