Human Resources develops and executes successful recruiting programs, learning and expertise-development initiatives, strategic staffing assignments, effective reporting and analytics, performance management processes, and work-life benefits and operations.



We seek an experienced human resources professional in our Evanston, IL headquarters. The HR Associate will be responsible for supporting the global mobility/immigration initiatives for our international workforce, including employment-based work authorization and permanent residence cases. The Associate may also assist with corporate relocation.

  • Serve as a member of the global mobility team, and work closely with our global team members to improve current processes and communication;
  • Maintain tracking log of current immigration cases to monitor progress to prevent potential gaps of employment or termination due to insufficient work authorization;
  • Understand and process employee short-term and extended work assignments;
  • Communicate extensively with outside immigration counsel and other vendors regarding paperwork, postings, and filing requirements;
  • Manage communication channels to insure we provide a high level of service and consultation to all immigration inquiries regarding status updates to employees and their project teams;
  • Review and edit immigration paperwork including but not limited to H-1B applications, amendments, and extensions, and LCA documentation, L-1A applications, RFE responses and support, permanent residency applications, etc.;
  • Utilize and maintain immigration documentation, metrics and reports in a variety of software applications;
  • Create and process immigration and employment letters for employee travel requirements as well as ad-hoc requests;
  • Support non-US business visa processing, and provide advice, when required, as well as keep up to date with changes and updates in the application and interview process;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree required, candidates with paralegal certificate and interest in human resources preferred;
  • 1-3 years of professional experience, preferably in human resources or an immigration-related role involving employment-based non-immigrant and permanent residence processes, ideally in a multi-national professional services environment;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Strong attention to detail and good time management skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work and communicate with multiple levels of the organization and a global team;
  • Eagerness to contribute in a team-oriented culture, but with a large degree of autonomy;
  • Strong work ethic and initiative;
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment;
  • Experience working in a role that requires a high degree of confidentiality and/or dealing with sensitive information.

ZS is a global consulting firm; fluency in English is required, additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable.
