Job Description

The intern student will be responsible for assisting with biomechanical research operations. In this role, the intern will be exposed to various parts of biomechanical research such as experimental biomechanics and computational modeling process including model development, model validation, study design and execution, and dissemination of results.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with experimental biomechanics projects

Assist in building and validating finite element models

Perform FEA in order to address biomechanical simulation needs

Aid in designing and completing computational biomechanics research studies

Expected Areas of Competence

Must possess knowledge of engineering, simulation methods and biomechanics.

Experience with commercial FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus)

Experience with other tools relevant to preparing and solving problems in computational biomechanics (e.g., CAD, MATLAB, medical image analysis,) is desired

Good problem solving skills through the use of quality and statistical tools

Good written and verbal communication skills

Microsoft Office Suite and Project

Education/Experience Requirements

Must be actively enrolled in an academic program for the entire duration of the assignment.

Working on a MS or PhD in engineering field (Biomedical or Mechanical)

GPA of 3.2+ preferred
