Registered Nurse
The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Registered Nurse in the Public Health Division within the Health and Human Services Department. There are currently full-time, part-time and extra-help opportunities available. Under general direction, the Registered Nurse promotes general health in the community through education and outreach; performs a range of nursing tasks such as specimen collection and processing; administering medication/injections, diagnostic skin tests and immunizations; completes appropriate paperwork such as logs, reports, and forms; coordinates the patient’s medical care with private physicians, public facilities and other health centers; reviews laboratory results; assists in monitoring quality assurance, infection control and safety activities; participates in COVID-19 response activities including testing and other activities; administration of general nursing care, including general health screenings; provision of quality nursing care to both adult and pediatric patients in a variety of settings in conjunction with or under the direction of the Public Health Officer. This is the entry level in the nursing series. This position may be assigned to various Public Health Programs.
The ideal candidate has the ability to assess and prioritize assigned caseloads, multiple tasks, projects and demands; work effectively under pressure; combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions; be self-motivated and skilled communicator, ability to build positive work relationships with internal and external personnel; organized, advanced computer skills as well as skill in providing excellent nursing services in a variety of settings. Additionally, assesses patient status and needs and takes appropriate action to provide for the modification of treatment plans to maximize care effectiveness.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum: Graduation from an accredited nursing school as required to obtain California registration.
Preferred: In addition to the minimum, five (5) years Registered Nursing experience.
Licenses and Certifications: Ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver’s license within ten (10) days of employment; maintain valid California Class C driver’s license. Possess license as Registered Nurse issued by the California Board of Nursing Education and Registration; possess a current valid CPR Certification or obtain within the first six months of employment; maintain valid certification.
Working Conditions: Typical office, clinic, community outreach, and/or home care setting. Work may require exposure to sources of potentially contagious pathogens in the course of field duties, while wearing personal protective equipment. May be required to work extended hours. May be required to attend meetings outside of normal business hours. Will be required to be available for call back in emergency situations.
Special Requirements: Must successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation which includes Live Scan fingerprinting prior to hire. Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109.
HIRING RANGE: $5,731 - $7,451 Monthly + Benefits
