Job Description

Winter/Spring/Summer: January - June

Here's What You'll Do:

* Communicate with dealers, consumers, and internal, staff as needed on projects assigned
* Attend industry trade shows, clinics and artist performances, as needed
* Coordinate and assist team in preparation of trade shows and events
* Analyze competitive markets and formulate product and price comparisons of new and existing products
* Communicate with vendors concerning supply issues and marketing materials
* Assist with research and development activities
* Assist with the production of website and marketing materials such as print ads, social media, flyers, labels, brochures, catalogs and press releases
* Perform administrative duties (copy, file, shipping and receiving of items), so the projects assigned are completed prior to deadline
* Additional duties as assigned by marketing manager

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table

* Graduation or expected to graduate from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Music Business, Music Performance, Music Education, Public Relations, or a related field
* Must be a junior, senior, or graduate student from an accredited university or have graduated within a year
* Experience in a directly related field may be substituted for the formal education requirement
* Experience with a retail music store is helpful but not required
* Some experience of playing a percussion instrument required
* Knowledge of the latest technology and applications including social media, Mac OS and presentation software along with a strong interest in learning new trends in marketing technology
* Knowledge in working with Microsoft Office skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
* Strong attention to detail including proofreading and copywriting skills
* Internships with Yamaha last approximately six months and will not exceed six months
